Description

13-inch associated dial with later enamel chapter ring, the engraved centre with moon dial, date aperture and signed Le Brasseur A Paris, the associated three train movement with going barrels for the strike on one bell and quarter strike on two further bells, weight driven going train, outside count wheels, deadbeat escapement, signed on the backplate Pelletier, Hger Du Roy, No.339, the waisted case inlaid with well-matched panels of kingwood bordered by amaranth and set with foliate ormolu mounts, the hood flanked by gryphons

Condition

The associated dial with later chapter ring and previously with cartouch numerals, edge damage at XII, III, III and VIII. The later associated movement with signes of alteration, old repair to crutch, much in need of a clean. Case in generally good condition although now divided into three sections and will require some stabilisation, cresting mount to hood loose, lenticle glass lacking, PROSPECTIVE BUYERS SHOULD INSPECT. With further modern plinth base (not measured), pendulum, weight, counter weight and two case keys but no winder.
