Description

  • rosewood, Goncalo Alves, brass, Coromandel
  • 136cm. high, 91cm. wide, 41cm. deep; 4ft. 5½in., 2ft. 11¾in., 1ft. 4in.
the superstructutre with gilt-brass turned supports above a coromandel crossbanded top,  the pair of doors now enclosing an arrangement of pigeonholes

Condition

Fair overall restored condtion. Repolished finish. Restoration to the top right hand corner of the right door as you are facing the cabinet. Minor characteristic veneer shrinkage age cracks. Minor veneer losses and restorations. Some typical small elements of lifting brass inlay. The left door with a missing section at its base. Repairs to the gilt-brass `cord' beading which has some small breaks and is lifting in places. One rear foot possibly a replacement. Minor age cracks to feet. Old marks and scratches
