Catalogue Note

An Estimate Sketch Book drawing for a suite of carved rosewood furniture supplied by Gillow & Co. in 1824 to Thomas John Wynn (d. 1832), 2nd Baron Newborough, for Glynllifon, Caernarvonshire, Wales incorporates a table of apparently near identical design to the present lot. A pair of bergères belonging to the suite sold Christie's London, 9 March 2000, lot 101.
