Condition

Good overall condition. The box is a late 18th/early 19th century workbox which has had Victorian alterations including painted decoration and the addition of all the fittings which have been fitted into the original tray but with a contemporary purpose made velvet lined shaped inset. The lock and escutcheon are later and probably contemporary with these later alterations. Three miniatures, including the centre one are cracked and with some re-painting. Old marks and scratches.
