Description
- gilt-bronze, marble
- each 126cm. high; 4ft.1in.
formerly fitted for electricity
Provenance
Purchased by the present owner's family in a sale at Palazzo Ruspoli, Rome, 11th-22nd April 1953.
Condition
Colour overall slightly darker than the catalogue image. Very nice quality and good quality casting to figures. The gilt-bronze is dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. The candlearms are bent on both. Evidence of a previous fixing in centre of cornucopia which rested on eagles' heads which is now missing. All the candlearm have been broken off and reaffixed and are slightly crooked and would benefit from some minor attention. Two foliate sprays on one are missing but are hardly noticeable and can easily be recast. There are some minor chips to the both marble socles and minor areas of infill. Once cleaned these would look very attractive. Impressive large size.
