Condition
The top is very beautiful. Some old very minor marks, chips and scratches to marble commensurate with age and usage and some old very minor restorations and areas of infill to the jasper. There are very minor sections of carving missing, but these are hardly noticeable and do not detract from the piece. The carved bird in the centre has lost its head. There are some very minor restorations to carving which has been very well executed. Some very minor chips to gilding which can easily be touched up. There are some hairline vertical construction cracks in the blocks above the legs, as visible from photograph, but these do not detract from the piece. In overall good conserved condition.
