attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, with a drawer and pen tray to back edge

Catalogue Note

A design for this type of table appears in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Books, dated 1810 and described by them as a `chamber writing Table', ( No. 344/144, p.11, Westminster City Archives).  A similar table sold  Sotheby`s London, Important English Furniture 23rd November 2005, lot 86.
