Condition
Good overall condition. Repolished finish. Recently reupholstered to a high standard. Minor veneer restorations to the cresting rail which are only visible on close inspection. Minor characteristic veneer chips to outer seatrails to the sides which are again only visible on close inspection. There are holes to the rear side of the sofa through the mahogany veneers leading to the back of the arms. These reveal the screws fixing the back to the arms. These could be obscured if required. However, if the sofa is likely to be positioned with its back to a wall, this will not be necessary. The rear right brass castor cup is slightly loose. Minor typical old marks and scratches to the mahogany conistent with age. Very good quality timber and constent rich brown colour Well chosen figured veneers to the toprail. An unusual design and rare shallowness of depth to the sofa which would lend it to a hall setting.
