- 27.2cm, 10 3/4 in wide
complete with detachable handles, oblong, applied gadroon borders, the lids engraved with a coat-of-arms, crest, motto and supporters, the undersides stamped '237 STORR & MORTIMER'
Provenance
The arms are those of Thellusson impaling Bethell-Codrington, for the Hon. Arthur Thellusson, fifth son of Peter Isaac Thellusson, 1st Baron Rendlesham (1761-1808), sometime a Director of the Bank of England, who was born on 10 December 1801. Mr. Thellusson, who married on 3 January 1826 to Caroline Anna Maria (d. 1877), daughter of Christopher Bethell-Codington (1805-1864), died on 15 June 1858. During the 1830s they lived at 88 Eaton Square, Pimlico, and were buried together with other members of the Thellusson family at St. Gregory the Great, Rendlesham, Suffolk.

Overall condition good, with a few small dents and the usual knife scratches
