- 31.5cm, 12 1/2 in diameter
Chippendale border, raised on four scroll feet, engraved with a coat-of-arms and scratch weight '34=15=~'
Provenance
The arms are those of Belasyse with Billingsley in pretence for William Belasyse of Brancepeth Castle, co. Durham.
Condition
Some surface scratches commensurate with age, nice hallmarks and scratch weight, overall good condition.

Catalogue Note
The arms are those of Belasyse with Billingsley in pretence for William Belasyse of Brancepeth Castle, co. Durham, son and heir of Sir Henry Belasyse (1647-1717), a professional soldier, by his wife, Dorothy, née Jenkins (d. 1696). Mr Belasyse married in 1732 Bridget Billingsley (1715-1735), of St. James's, Westminster, by whom he had a daughter, also Bridget. The latter died an heiress in 1774 leaving the Brancepeth estate to her fifth cousin once removed, Henry Belasyse, 2nd Earl Fauconberg (1743–1802).
