Condition

Colours in reality are a litle more subdued than in the catalogue photograph. Backed with linen lining. Edged with applied salmon coloured herringbone tape for strengthening. Some loss on joins, with canvas showing. Small areas of repair. Minor areas of loss in areas of black design to lozenge borders. Some stains to the coral ground. Some colour run, from the yellow, probably as a result of washing. This is visible within the narrow banded border, see for example the top end of the image in the catalogue, where yellow and blue alternates across the band. Overall it is an attractive and decorative piece.
