A rare year-going quarter striking mahogany longcase clock, Johann Hinrieh Grader, Altona, dated 1785

15-inch rectangular dial signed on a silvered plaque Johann Hinrieh Grader, Altona flanked by applied silvered and engraved foliate scrolls, silvered rococo spandrels, finely matted centre with seconds dial and date aperture, fine steel counter-weighted hands and dated on a silvered plaque 1785, the three train movement with six knopped pillars, six-wheel high count trains, anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell and striking the four quarters on a smaller bell, the case with flat top, moulded cornice and rectangular trunk door

Dial in generally good condition though rather dirty, surface rusting to hands. Movement is complete and appears to retain the original wheel work throughout but much in need of a clean, surface rusting to steel work. Case has been restored and repolished, back board probably replaced, geerally good condition throughout, with old minor repairs and marks, side upper trunk moulding detached but we have it. No pendulum, weights, winder or case keys.
