Description

  • crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, incised numeral 6

  • 17.5cm., 7in.
modelled by J.J. Kändler, seated on an upholstered chair with one child on her knee, the other seated on a stool at her feet, together with three Meissen miniature figures of gallants, (each 6.5cm, 2½in.). and a peasant (8cm, 3 1/8 in.), circa 1750, crossed swords mark in underglaze blue; and a Frankenthal figure of a boy disguised as a gallant (10.7cm, 4¼in.) crowned CT mark in underglaze blue  (restoration to all figures)

Condition

the girl to the left with upper body broken and re-stuck, both hands missing, shoe tip broken, the mother with left shoe broken and re-stuck, the child to the left with left thumb restored and one dress ribbon broken; one miniature figure of a gentleman with restoration to tail of his coat, the second with restoration to tip of hat and one tip broken, the peasant with head broken and restuck; the Frankenthal figure with hat rim broken and partly restored, tip of sword missing, some flat chips to foot-rim
