within a four-sided scrolling acanthus and floral border, with scallop corners, on a blue ground
Condition
Colours and overall appearance more attractive than visible in the catalogue photograph. Retains original colouring overall. Light blue to ground of border, apricot and yellow shades. There are old repairs in areas. Areas of repair to the foreground brown areas, visible as the terracotta colour, surrounded by he original darker brown. These lighter coloured repairs are visible in other areas such as central left and right side of composition, within the foliage, and as visible in the photograph. For example small areas of repair to old moth damage in areas across tapestry. See reweaving to sky, top right corner, visible as different colour, and to the central area of sky around the foliage. Later selvedge across top edge. Lined with green cotton lining. Needs Velcro attached for future hanging. Balanced colour and composition. Decorative panel with striking border. Versatile size.
