Catalogue Note

Maison Gagneau was one of the best known suppliers of chandeliers and lighting equipment from the latter part of the 19th century and first part of the 20th century. They exhibited widely and several examples can be seen in Great Exhibitions 1851-1900, Jonathan Meyer, Antique Collectors' Club, 2006, p. 319. They also supplied chandeliers in partnership with Daum for the French Embassy in Vienna.
