the center with a dark brown-ground roundel finely painted with a shoulder-length profile portrait of ENÉE titled at the left within an elaborate gilt S-scroll, flowerhead and anthemion border, the gilt-edged puce-ground rim painted with neoclassical acanthus and anthemion devices, interlaced L's enclosing traces of a fleur-de-lis, Sevres and 23 printed in blue, M 27, Jv 23 and decorator's mark Di. painted in gold, indistinct incised mark.
