New lining with snaps. Slightly reduced. Good blues, greens, and browns. Well done restorations throughout. Stable, attractive, and ready to hang.

Catalogue Note

The present subject, Rinaldo seeing his image reflected in the diamond shield, is the fifth woven in the series of the story of the Christian knight Rinaldo and the sorceress Armida, from Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata, made after designs by the painter Simon Vouet (1590-1649).
