The present weaving was produced in the workshop of Frans Gheteels before 1560 and depicts the tenth and final scene in the Life of Cyrus series based upon Herodotus, after a design by Michael Coxie.  The severed head of Cyrus has here been removed.  See G. Delmarcel, Flemish Tapestry, Tielt, Belgium, 1999, p. 116.
