Condition
In overall very good condition. With old minor marks and surface abrasions consitent with age. Some of the silk upholstered panels are slightly loose. In otherwise good condition.

The sober elegance of this screen is inspired by English furniture of the late 18th century. A nearly identical 18th century screen is in Elizavetta Alexievna's room in Tsarskoe Selo, fig. 1, and illustrated, N. N. Sobolev, Furniture Measurements, published by the Academy of Architecture of the USSR, vol. I, Moscow, 1940, p. 41.
