Condition
Both painted with a thick red polychromy. Both with losses and restorations including (Apollo group): loss to top of tree, loss to Apollo's lyre, loss to tip of blade, restorations to Apollo's proper right wrist and right leg, break through Marsayas's torso. (Hercules group): Some chips and losses include in drapery and fingers to left hand, restrorations in drapery on reverse and to his proper left wrist and thigh, Lion's upper jaw and left hind quarters. Repair to Hercules's neck. Both repaired and filled with plaster on the underside.
