the upper section fitted with a pair of doors opening to an arrangement of short and long drawers, the lower section fitted with a secretaire drawer opening to an inset leather lined writing surface before an arrangement of small drawers and pigeon holes flanked by drawers before secret drawers above three graduated long drawers raised on bracket feet.

Condition

Overall good restored condition; the surface now with a glossy finish; the upper molded edge to the left and right sides of the upper section replaced; each door to the upper section with a vertical age crack to the front and reverse and with horizontal stress tear to the veneers of the reverse at the top over the lines of construction; the right door with a shim to the reverse at the age crack; the hinges to the left door and the top and bottom hinges to the right door each with a crack and repaired with a plate to the backside with subsequent veneer cut-outs at joins with hinges to accommodate the plates to the hinges. Drawer pulls to the drawers of the upper section replaced. Side panels with some thin vertical age cracks; right side panel with a triangular loss to veneer of bottom edge; right side panel with small chips and losses to veneer of bottom edge; one veneer piece off but present in a bag. The lower section with replaced molded edge to top; the secretaire drawer with replaced drawer runner to right side; later leather lining; four square veneer patches over the screw holes for the handles to drawer front; the left secret drawer lacking spring-loaded mechanism; drawer bottoms with restorations and some shims, some drawer runners replaced; handles and hardware probably later; veneers to bracket feet appear to be replaced; two blocks to bracket feet replaced. Overall with some small chips and patches to veneers mainly at corner edges; old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises consistent with age and use.
