the rectangular divided hinged top opening to reveal a well for a basin and with fitted side wells, enclosed by a false drawer, on a pair of pedestals each fitted with a door, on serpentine bracket feet, the front and sides decorated with geometric bird and blossom motif in tones of gilt on a dark brown ground.
Condition
Overall good restored condition; japanned surface stable and refreshed; structure is sturdy; the hinged top panels with usual minor warpage and with some stress tears to the veneers with inpainting over lines of construction; hinges possibly replaced; side panels with slight bowing; central well once fitted with a lead lining now lacking; small chips and nicks to japanned surface of arch to central kneehole; handles to doors later; doors once fitted with locks and now with patches; base to each pedestal later.
