the circular top with reeded edge, decorated with star and band motif, over a triangular tapering standard with leafy marquetry and gilt-leaf banding, on a triangular concave-sided base with gilt-bronze leafy animal-paw feet.
Condition
Top and bottom associated; the top with slight warpage and long vertical age cracks over lines of construction with some inpainting; glossy finish to top; some minor inpainting to ebonized stringing; nicks and some minor inpainting to reeded edge of top; underside with shims between boards and with some patches and butterfly repairs; bearers possibly later; the rectangular support above the stem with some old worm damage; the stem with vertical age crack to one panel at center with some infilling and inpainting; some minor age cracks to other panels; overgilt; overall chips and losses to gilding and gesso; rubbing and wear to gilding of feet; some minor nicks and chips to veneers of edges of base; overall with some old marks and scratches.
