A set of eight Regency mahogany dining chairs circa 1815

comprising two armchairs and six side chairs.

Overall good condition. The first with one replaced strut to underside; back right leg with small repaired age crack and with plug to back at join with seat rail. The second with small pins to back of left stile at join with cresting rail, the side seat rails replaced and with two later struts. The third with small age crack to horizontal splat, the underside lacking its struts. The fourth with plug to top of left style at join with cresting rail, old repaired small cracks to horizontal splat, front railed replaced, the back rail and right side rail each with a fillet to the underside at the back right corner. The fifth with old repaired break to front left leg at join with seat rail now with an additional corner block, front right leg replaced and with two small blocks at join with front and side rail, considerable old worm damage to right side rail at join with back right leg. The sixth chair with a small screw to the left style and a small plug to the right style at join with cresting rail; the front left leg replaced, the front rail with infilled chip to the underside, water straining to veneer of back rail. The first armchair with age crack to sides of the right armrest at join with style and also with small replaced chip to top, top of left armrest with small patched section to one side and with infilled age crack to the other side and with plug to the underside all at join with style, front right leg possibly replaced; the front corner struts lacking and now with metal L brackets. The second armchair with old repaired break to top of left style at join with cresting rail and armrest and now with a plug, the top of each armrest with old repaired breaks at join with styles, the front left leg probably replaced, two metal L brackets to seat rail at front left corner.
