A George III silver-mounted inlaid satinwood and calamander cheveret circa 1800

In two parts, the book stand with carrying handle above two short over a long drawer, the projecting lower section fitted with a drawer.  The later sliver handles fully marked for Frederick Perry and William F. Curry, London, 1874.

Overall fair condition;silver handles later; the basket handle to upper section with old repaired breaks at joins with case and delicate; loss to veneer banding to top of back left corner and back right corner of upper section each approximately 3 inches in length; small losses to ebony stringing; slight rippling and lifting to calamander veneer to side panels; age cracks and slight warpage to shelf and with some lifting to satinwood banding; the lower section with old repaired breaks and small losses to the back three-quarter sold gallery; drawer with later green baize lining and with age cracks to drawer bottom; the sliding panel slightly tight and sticks when slides; slight warpage to top of lower section with slight lifting to the satinwood banding; two small infilled losses to veneer above left inlaid flowerhead patera; horizontal age crack to back of top and with sun fading to front of top where upper part does not cover; mild vertical age cracks to legs and with rubbing and losses to the ebonized turned collars; platform stretcher with warpage ad with age cracks with some infilling and slight inpainting and with repairs to the underside; overall veneers dry and with slight lifting, though sturdy and with usual light surface scratches, scuffs and bruises consistent with age and use.
