of rectangular form supported by four columnar legs, each long side decorated with taotie masks on a turquoise ground above a pair of kui dragons, the short sides each with a pair of archaistic birds and set with a pair of upright loop handles, the cover further decorated with a band of archaistic lappets, surmounted with a stylized lion finial
Condition
There is a small area of loss to the top of one of the legs. There is a very thin area of loss, about 1 inch long, just underneath the rim on one of hte short side. There are somme small losses to the enamel, but the cloisonne wires remain in good condition with much of hte gilding intact.
The cover has some area of loss to the enamel, and the cloisonne wires remain intact with much fo the gilding intact. The finial may be be matched and could be of a later date.
