of pointed oval section, each side decorated with six horizontal panels enclosing three bosses cast in the form of coiled snakes, separated by narrow bands of interlaced dragon pattern and raised lines, with a central plain vertical panel, incorporating narrow vertical openings for tuning, the lower part of the bell with an intricate design of interlaced snakes, surmounted by a handle of intertwined snakes set on the flat base cast with further interlaced snakes, covered overall with a pale greyish-green patina

The x-ray shows that the bell is in overall good condition. There is a 3 inch stabilized crack stemming from the rim on one side running into the body. The lower edge of the rim on one side is uneven due to casting flaws. There is a 2 inch stablized crack and several shorter similar cracks also running up from the rim into to body.
