Description

  • Porcelain
the low rounded sides rising to an everted rim, the interior painted with a central medallion containing a dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl amidst scrolling clouds and flames, all surrounded by two further dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls, the exterior of the cavetto similarly painted, all above a slightly tapered foot, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark

Condition

Good condition. There is some light surface wear and occasional scratching to the enamels and glaze on the interior. The blue ground has some small patches of brownish oxidization - the heaviest of these is visible in the catalogue photo to the right of the central dragon's lower righthand claws. There is a small area of restoration covering some very minior chips on the rim at about 3 o'clock.
