in the form of a cluster of three mushrooms, skillfully using the russet skin on the tops of the caps, the undersides with finely carved striations radiating from the stem, each stem curved and undercut for attachment

Overall in very good condition. There are a few minor nicks to the piece.

A small group of a mushroom and lingzhi, carved in a similar shallow manner and demonstrating the same use of the russet skin of the stone on the mushroom caps, was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 25th November, 1987, lot 415.
