Description

of  broad baluster form, the exterior finely slip-decorated, incised and brightly glazed in aubergine, yellow and turquoise depicting scholars and attendants in a garden beside pine trees amidst cloud scrolls in a mountainous landscape, all reserved on a rich dark blue ground, all between a lotus-lappet band at the waisted base and a bajixiang-filled ruyi collar at the broad shoulder, the interior glazed green, later pierced domed zitan cover and stand

Condition

This richly glazed jar is in fair overall condition with the exception of complete loss of the neck and the rim, minor glaze firing imperfections and glaze scratches.
