- CERAMIC
the heavily-potted compressed globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a short waisted neck with broad everted lipped rim, brightly enamelled and gilt around the exterior with two large peony trees divided by biscuit lion mask handles, all between iron-red floral and landscape bands, the interior with a large number of fish and crabs amidst water weeds, encircled at the rim by quatrefoil panels enclosing sea creatures reserved on an iron-red and gilt diaper ground
Condition
The fish bowl is in very good overall condition with the exception of loss to one coil of mane on each lion-head handle and rubbing to the enamels where the original ring would have hung against the body, light staining to the glaze around the lower body, minor glaze firing imperfections and light glaze scratches.
