Description

  • PORCELAIN
the elegant baluster body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted ribbed neck with flaring rim, finely painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with a peacock perched on rockwork amidst flowering branches of peony and magnolia

Condition

This fienley painted vase is in good overall condition with the exception of restoration to a small glaze flake on the exterior edge of the rim, a 2cm., long vertical glaze firing hairline running up from the luting line which is also visible as a line encircling the body beneath the glaze, a 3cm., wide bruise to the edge of the foot, some mottled glaze discolouration around the shoulder, two tiny nicks to the edge of the foot, minor glaze firing imperfections including tiny burst glaze bubbles and some glaze pulls to the base, iron spots and light glaze scratches.
