Description

the translucent stone of a creamy white tone, delicately carved as a veined leaf to form a shallow tray, attached to a handle modelled as a daisy borne on a leafy stem in openwork, the underside connected to a loose ring

Provenance

Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1970s.

Condition

This piece is in very good condition with the exception of a 1cm hairline fracture extending from the edge of sine side, possibly due to a natural vein, and on the other side a 1cm hairline fracture and a 1.2cm forked fracture. Please note that the stone is of a slightly more beige colour than illustrated in the catalogue.
