A BLUE AND WHITE MING-STYLE BASIN QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

the robustly potted body with deep rounded sides rising from a flat base to a broad everted flaring rim, painted in rich heaped and piled cobalt-blue tones to the interior with a leafy undulating composite floral scroll, encircled at the rim by a leafy lingzhi scroll, the exterior left undecorated    

The basin is in overall very good condition, apart from some surface scratches and iron spots to the glaze. There is a 0.3 cm bruise to the glaze at the rim, together with a smaller bruise along the inner border of the rim. There are small clusters of excess glaze near the base. Some of the inscriptions written with ink on the underside are slightly rubbed off.
