Description

the smooth white jade pebble with russet stains, carved in the shape of a melon, framed by twisted vines and serrated leaves, one side inscribed with an inscription, signed Chun He Zhu Ren with an oval seal containing two characters Chun He

Condition

The overall condition is very good with only a minute nibble on the edge of a leaf at the top of the jade.

The inscription on this jade is translated as follows:

Beautiful jade heavenly carved,
implying abundance of children and grandchildren, happiness and success.

Yunli (1697-1743), whose hao was Chun He Zhu Ren ('the owner of spring harmony'), was the 17th son of the Kangxi emperor and younger brother of the Yongzheng emperor.
