Description

  • Bronze
the head decorated with a dragon head and two bats and a shou character amongst cloud scrolls, the handle further decorated with bats and shou symbols

Condition

This axe is in good condition with the exception of wear and rubbing of gilt along the edges of the modelled dragon head, tiny nibbles to the edge of the blade, small patches of light rust, scratches and wear to the blade, rubbing of black and gilt pattern especially on the geometric bands, repainting of black near the mouth of the dragon, and rubbing and wear of the black decoration to the handle and gilt particularly to the lower end of the handle.
