Description

  • Jade and ivory
the ivory scabbard and handle embellished with gilt-bronze mounts chased and engraved with dragons and scrolling foliage, the hilt in the form of an animal mask

Condition

This sword is in good condition. The jade handle has a small (5mm) flaw. The gilt bronze fittings to the sword and fitting have been polished/cleaned recently. The ivory scabbard is formed of two pieces and has a small (5mm) crack to the lower part of one side. There is also some surface scratches and some minor staining. There is some slight tarnishing/oxidization to the blade throughout.
