Description
- Enamel and metal
the pear-shaped body rising from a short straight gilt foot to a tall narrow cylindrical neck with everted gilt rim, polychrome enamelled around the exterior with leafy lotus strapwork beneath a pendent stiff leaf band, all reserved on a rich turquoise ground
Condition
This vase is in fair condition and has a 1cm diameter chip to the enamel to the side of the body, There is also two other smaller areas of enamel loss to the right of this area and a 1.7cm x 2mm area of enamel loss to the right of this. There is also other linear areas of enamel loss to the leaves in the lower section of the vase, as well as a 5mm diameter area to the top of the neck. There is also a narrow area of enamel loss 8mm x 3mm to the base of the neck. The enamel is pitted in many areas throughout the vase and there is rubbing to the gilding at the rim to the foot.
