Description

  • Cloisonne and gilt-bronze
each pear-shaped body surmounted by a dished drip pan and tall tapering cylindrical shaft, all supported on three gilt lion mask headed paw feet, enamelled around the exterior with lotus strapwork and taotie lappet and ruyi bands reserved on a turquoise ground, fitted with later pricket sconce

Condition

The candlesticks are in fair overall condition with the exception of three small areas of re-touching to the enamel around the rim of one, a c.8mm diam., section of re-touching to the dark-blue enamel on the stick section, and a slight bend to one leg; the other has two small areas of re-touching to the enamel on the rim; and minor nicks and rubbing to the gilt decoration of both.
