Description

the compressed globular body rising from three conical feet to a short waisted neck with everted gilt rim set with a pair of simple loop handles, brightly polychrome enamelled around the exterior with large lotus flower heads born on leafy strapwork, all below a cloud band at the neck and reserved on a rich turquoise ground, wood stand

Condition

The censer is in good overall condition with the exception of light pitting and minor re-touching to the underside of the base just to the inside of one leg, a slight bend to one handle and light rubbing and scratches to the gilt decoration.
