each ovoid body rising from a recessed base to a short tapering neck, brightly enamelled around the exterior with large lotus panels enclosing birds and insects perched on or hovering above flowers issuing from rockwork and lotus issuing from a pond, all below a band of precious objects reserved on an iron-red lotus strapwork ground, the domed cover with a ruyi edged medallion enclosing a bird

Condition

The one jar and cover is in good overall condition, the other jar has reapir to breaks extending around approximately half of the body, the cover is in good condition. Characteristic minor glaze firing imperfections and light glaze scratches to both.
