Description

the pear-shaped body rising from a short straight foot, pierced with an oval apeture to the sides, to a tall flaring neck with a double raised horizontal band at the shoulder and mid point and flanked by a pair of tubular handles, covered overall with a pale bluish-grey glaze suffused with a matrix of fine golden crackles, the footring unglazed and burt to a dark purple-brown tone in the firing, wood stand, Japanese wood box

Condition
The vase is in good overall condition with the exception of some firing imperfections including several short firing lines to the foot, a 15mm., wide shallow chip to the bottom of the footring (only just visible externally) and three long glaze lines extending up from firing cracks to the rim.
