28 vintage silverprints of British and allied aeroplanes on the ground, undergoing repairs, and in the air (including one of W.G. Barker, VC, in flight), airships, a bomb depot, WRAFs, aerial views of the German fleet's surrender, royal visits to troops, victory parades, and one photograph of Baron Von Richthofen meeting the Kaiser at Marcke aerodrome; 5 post-war photographs relating to the RAF school of navigation at Andover, including one of Keith Park (later hero of the Battle of Britain) and crew for his 1919 circumnavigation of Britain; and 11 aerial photographs chiefly of locations on the Thames; the wartime photographs by the official photographer David McLellen, where identified, each print about 15 x 20cm, mounted in a contemporary album with captions and negative numbers
Condition
There is some slight overall fading, a few minor stains to one image, another with short tear (having occurred before mounting), another photograph printed from a damaged negative, the series of aerial photographs are somewhat cockled due to mounting. The cloth binding has a little cockling and discoloration due to damp at some time in the past.
