Catalogue Note

Paul Mellia (b. 1954) has developed a distinctive '3-D interpretation' style of airbrush art. He has worked in Los Angeles with Disney and Marvel and is the only artist officially licensed to interpret Marvel characters. He is also the only artist authorised to create his own interpretations of Thomas the Tank Engine and friends. This piece was originally presented for auction at the Thomas and Friends 60th Anniversary party in January 2005. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to The National Autistic Society and help them to support people across the UK living with autism.
