Fourteen pencil drawings, probably for Kidnapped, 342 by 220mm. (average), each signed 'Laudy 42'; one pencil and watercolour drawing, probably for Kidnapped, 340 by 222mm. signed 'Laudy 41', extremities slightly frayed; twenty-three original Christmas cards, 105 by 140mm. (average), mostly ink and watercolour, all signed 'Laudy' or 'Jack' and dated between 1959 and 1992; together with three prints and an inscribed copy of a 1980 comic book version of Kidnapped entitled David Balfour, some occasional light spotting and browning

Catalogue Note

Together with Hergé and Jacobs, Jacques ("Jack") Laudy (1907-1993) was one of the original artists that launched Tintin magazine in 1946. In 1952 he developed his own strip, based on Robert Louis Stevenson's hero, entitled 'David Balfour'.
