Catalogue Note
A combination of affairs, scandals and divorce required William Roger Snow (1834-1907) to change his name to Clifford Merton and, later, to Richard André. As an author and illustrator of adult and children's literature he produced a prolific quantity of work, particularly in collaboration with the writer Juliana Ewing.
