Catalogue Note

A letter to an old comrade in arms written less than a month before Trafalgar. Nelson's respect for Logan, evident in this letter, went back to 1796, when the two men had taken joint command of a successful operation for the occupation of the island of Capraia as part of the struggle with the French for control of the western Mediterranean.
