manuscript manual on the King's Artillery containing many illustrations of cannons and complex artillery and cavalry formations, carefully drawn in ink, including instructions for the King's German Legion in England ("Fuß und Pferd-Exercise für das 3te leichte Dragoner Regiment, King's German Legion"), with chapters dealing with mounted and foot artillery, regulations for the officers, paymaster, barracks, regimental courts-martial, with updated instructions for the year 1807 (including at Porchester), concluding with a historical note on the evolution of the cavalry written in Lubenau in 1800 and completed in Weymouth in 1804-1805, the text written in right-hand columns, with the illustrations and some additions entered in the left-hand columns, in German, with some titles in English, over 450 pages, (pages 183-189 blank), plus blanks at end, folio contemporary English panelled reversed calf, c.1805-1807
