Catalogue Note

The memoirs of Theodor von der Decken, a Hanoverian cavalry officer. The highly elaborate binding and case for the first volume was made from Decken's sabretache, as is revealed by one of the internal photographs, which shows the young Decken posing in uniform with the original sabretache slung from his belt.
