Catalogue Note

The story of Bambi first appeared in the periodical Die Neue Freie Presse in 1922 with the first edition published, in German, the following year. The English translation, with a foreword by John Galsworthy, was published in New York in 1928. The film rights were sold in 1933 and the Disney Studios released their animated feature film nine years later.
